OnePlus Open 2 Launch In 2025 Could Be Earlier Than We Thought
The upcoming OnePlus Open 2, tipped as a rebranded version of OPPO Find N5, is expected to hit the shelves next year. While the Chinese smartphone maker hasn’t officially launched a successor to the first-generation OnePlus Open in 2024, a tipster has now shed some light on when we can expect the handset to be unveiled.
As per the details leaked, the company’s second foldable smartphone is expected to debut as a rebranded version of the Oppo Find N5, which is tipped to arrive in early 2025 in China. This handset will reportedly come along with top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
If this claim is true, then the OnePlus Open 2 could use the same chipset as its Chinese counterpart, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The launch detail for the Open 2 have been deviating in the last few weeks and now it has been suggested that OnePlus will launch its new foldable in early 2025.
It is worth noting there is no word from OnePlus about when they plan to introduce the successor to the first generation OnePlus Open, which was rolled out in 2023.
Previously, Tipster Digital Chat Station gave us a closer look at some of the specifications of the rumoured OnePlus Open 2. In a post originally shared on Weibo in Chinese, the user mentioned that the handset is said to have entered the testing phase. If the leaks are to be believed, the company might finally address some of the biggest complaints in its successor.
The Oppo Find N5 is expected to run on the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It might sport a larger screen and wireless charging feature. OnePlus is likely to pack the Open 2 with a 5,700mAh battery which is a big upgrade from the 4,800mAh on the original Open model. The brand is tipped to bring a 3x periscope lens to the Open 2, give it a glass finish which should make it lighter.
