Dell Says Goodbye To XPS And Inspiron: Here’s What The Laptops Will Be Called From Now

Dell is taking Apple’s cue for its laptops and giving them iPhone-like Pro and Pro Max rebranding. The company has made this big call at the CES 2025 this year which means the end of the popular XPS, Inspiron and Latitude names for the brand in the market. Laptop names can be confusing for buyers and unless they know what the brand stands for, like the XPS, people have to do heavy research before choosing the right model for their use. Dell is now making this process simpler by calling its lineup Dell, Dell Pro and Dell Pro Max.

A New Pro Era

Dell is a popular name in the PC market but even then you might argue that these rebrands are similar to the iPhone monikers that you have seen over many years. The company claims that nobody owns words like Pro and Pro Max which is fair but for the consumers it is hard to see them accept these changes when the actual branding of XPS and Inspiron had a higher recall for the company. So from 2025 onwards, the Dell laptops will cater to the regular users for school and light work purposes.

The Dell Pro lineup will focus on the business segment, while the Dell Pro Max will most likely target the high-end power users. So why is Dell making these changes? The company says it has done its research with tens of thousands of customers, who feel that simple branding could make it easier for people to buy its products.

The company also knows that with the end of Windows 10 updates later this year, millions of PCs will need to be upgraded, and it feels that having Dell with Pro and Pro Max monikers will get it more buyers.

Having said that, Dell is not making any changes to the Alienware lineup and it will continue with the same branding along with the new Dell models.
