Nintendo Switch 2 Unveiled With New Controllers And Games Support: All Details

Nintendo has revealed the next Switch handheld gaming device on Thursday, and as expected we finally know when the new console will be going on sale across markets this year. The most significant change with the Switch 2 will be the way the Joy-Con controllers attach to the body of the device.

The new console is reportedly going to include electromagnetic connectors, which should make it simpler to attach the controllers than the current design, which uses a rail system to slot them into the body. Nintendo has confirmed the launch will happen in April this year. The Switch 2 is larger than the present model, which means the Joy-Con size has also gone up making it a bigger unit as a whole.

Nintendo Switch 2 Features: Know More

The handheld device is anticipated to have an OLED screen, based on previously leaked dummy mockups of the Switch 2. According to reports, the Switch 2 will use an NVIDIA Ampere GPU, which might be the NVIDIA Tegra T239 chip. The Switch 2 will be comparable to the PlayStation 4 or the PlayStation 4 Pro if this is accurate. Additionally, Nintendo may include up to 12GB of RAM and an upscaling mechanism akin to NVIDIA DLSS technology.

There have been several leaks and reports in recent months that suggest the Nintendo Switch 2 will cost approximately $300 (Rs 25,000 approx). Meanwhile, an industry analyst from Japan stated last year that the Switch 2 would cost $400, (Rs 34,000 approx), with certain titles costing as much as $70 for gamers.

Nintendo did not launch the Switch console officially in India but people did end up importing from other regions. However, we are hoping the fortunes of the Switch 2 this year are different and more people are able to purchase it within the country.
